An Ancient Alliance

Hunter gathering is mans oldest profession
That's littered and honoured with age old lessons.
Conserving, preserving, managing wildlife and game
A delicate balance of feast and famine to maintain.
Experience, knowledge and a little luck
Helps the gamekeeper do his work.
He's done it for years, since man began
Observing, protecting this earth
The wild habitat of man.
Always full of amazing and beautiful sights,
A duty to protect it is his right.
A tradition of Scotland he's keeping in place
Not a frenzied killing zone of disgrace.
It's about time those few
Who cannot see the wood for the trees
Should leave well alone this natural balance
Of men and wild places
An Ancient Alliance.

Gardening Scotland 2009

Whilst studying horticulture at Newtown St Boswells Campus this year...me n me team mates entered The Gardening Scotland 2009 college garden competition...and transformed this...to this... to this..

ending with this...The Crunch Munch Garden...

which won us this....a "Gold"..and... "Best New Show Garden"...how good is that!!!...well done us!!

The idea for the exhibit came from the current credit crisis. It's an edible garden created using largely recycled materials.

Click on the link to see us on The Beachgrove Garden....

...and all of that led to the creation of - "The High Mill Garden" -representing the joining forces of Heriot-Watt Uni and Borders College at the Netherdale Campus.
